Stepping Out In Floral

I'm definitely looking forward to fall fashion, but I am not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet.  I just wish that we could hold on to this warm weather a bit longer.  Living here in Jersey, you really learn to appreciate the summer months because once the cold weather hits, it can be almost unbearable at times.  I am definitely taking advantage of the time we have left and wearing a few more summer looks!

Dress: OASAP [sold out :( but love this one] | Shoes: Schutz [similar
 Clutch: Danielle Nicole [similar]

I dressed up for date night even though I didn't have a date. [lol] So, I guess I dressed up for myself then?  I thought that this little floral dress was the perfect choice for a fun summer night out.  The color combo is so beautiful and I was instantly drawn to it.  I love the style & cut of this dress too. The front part was really open so I did have to make a minor adjustment by pinning it together.  If I left it open, then I would have been putting on a show for everyone to see.  I completed the look with my pink pumps & a navy blue clutch to match the print.

I've been getting a lot of questions about how I was able to create this big bun with short hair.  I did not use a "sock" or "donut" so please believe that you can totally achieve this look if your hair is short like mine!  The secret is to make sure you do the bun when your hair is curly because it will be easier to create volume.  It's also much easier to play around with your hair and form it the way you want.  Just use lots of bobby pins, especially in the back and use lots of hairspray too!

Have a great start to the new week! <3

Happy Friday my loves!
I decided to close this week out with another style post.  There is no Life Chats this week because I think the tribute to my father took its place.  Those feelings were pretty much all I have been going through this past week.  I hope you had a chance to check out that post.

Top: Lush | Jeans: H&M [similar] | Shoes: Call It Spring | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Bag: French Connection [love this]

I wore this outfit last week and I must say that it's been one of my most comfortable summer looks!  It was really hard shooting this though because it was extremely windy out.  I bought this flowy top a few months ago and to be honest I let it hang on my clothing rack because I didn't really know what to do with it.  That might sound silly because it's just a simple top, but I'm not really used to wearing flowy shirts. This outfit came together sort of by accident.  I was trying it on again and put on these girlfriend jeans, but with no intention of pairing these two pieces together.  I ended up really loving it though!  The jeans are so relaxed and casual and the shirt is super chic, so I think they worked really well together.  For me, this was somewhat of an unexpected pairing.

I knew that I needed  a statement shoe since this outfit is simple, so I decided to finally wear my tropical print heels.  I seriously love this pop of color and print.  The chunky heel makes these so much more comfortable for a daytime look.  I finished everything off with my mirrored sunglasses and a matching lip.

I hope that you have an amazing weekend! <3

Summer Pastels

First let me start off by saying thank you so much for all of the sweet messages on yesterday's post whether you left them here on the blog or on my social channels.  It's such an amazing thing to be able to connect with you all on a deeper level and to know how many others have experienced what I have gone through.  We are not alone.  We are in this together.  Sending you all love today and always.

I wore this outfit last week for a screening in the city and decided to shoot it for the blog.  It was completely unplanned, but I was really happy with the outcome.  These white shorts have been such an amazing go-to piece for me this season.

Shorts: Dynamite [love these & these] | Top: Charlotte Russe [very similar]
Shoes: Steve Madden [similar] Bag: Aldo [similar style]

I think that pastel colors are extremely beautiful this time of year.  It's just something about that softer color palette that draws me in.  I got this top a month or so ago and finally decided to put it to good use.  I'm not really a fan of shirts that tie in the front.  It just doesn't work too well for me, so I decided to leave it untied and let the material hang down on both sides.  It sort of looks like I've got on a matching scarf and gives this look a bit more of a casual and somewhat preppy feel.  I'm all about it!  I had no idea what color shoes to go with at first because white seemed to be too much and unfortunately I didn't have any printed ones that worked.  I decided to wear these light pink sandals.  They sort of look like they match in the photos, but in person you can see the pink a bit more.  I incorporated some floral print with my bag and I think this helped to pop out the look and bring it all together.  Not too bad for a last minute look!  I swear those always seem to be my favorite outfits.

Hope that you are all having a great week so far.  Thanks for stopping by. <3
