Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to do a quick post and share my costume this year: MALEFICENT!  I literally waited till the very last minute (this morning) and spent the whole day making this.  I swear I work way better under pressure.  I watched a tutorial by Andrea from Fancy Made and it helped me so much.  She seriously does the best DIY costumes! Unfortunately, I could not find some of the essential pieces to make this so I just had to improvise a little bit.  She used the Mickey/Minnie Ears hat as the base but I could not find it in any costume store so I literally cut off the bottom half of an old graduation cap.  Hey, whatever works right! lol Also, the biggest challenge for me was not having a mannequin head to build the head piece on.  I'm still not sure how I was able to create this.  It was probably the most challenging costume that I have ever made.  It's not perfect, but I'm so happy with the end result.  And as for the makeup, I just mixed some foundation with white face paint and used dark eyeshadow to contour my cheeks.  I also doubled up on the lashes, did a smokey eye and red lip to match hers.
Hope you all have a fun Halloween night!

Black, White & Pink

Outfit Details

Blazer: Melao / Top: Melao / Skirt: H&M (similar)
Shoes: Aldo (similar color) / Bag: French Connection (also love) / Necklace: Prima Donna

Today I'm supporting my good friend Daniela, from Nany's Klozet, by wearing some pieces from her capsule collection with Melao! I actually wore both the blazer & top last week for an event in the city, but I paired the pieces with black skinny pants.  I found this skirt on clearance at H&M for only $3, (yes $3!) so I decided to pair them with the skirt this time and I definitely love this look a lot more now.  On a side note, it was super windy and the bottom half of my skirt kept doing the Marilyn Monroe.  Yikes!

When wearing black and white, any pop of color can work.  I typically do red since it's a personal favorite, but pink is a close second.  It definitely makes the outfit pop out much more.  Instead of doing the obvious black shoe, I went with these white ones instead, which helped to bring out the print from the blazer. Love this blazer by the way and I know I will be wearing it a couple of more times in other ways. If you use the code BLOGGER, you will receive 20% off plus free shipping for your order. :)

If I don't get to post a costume tomorrow for Halloween, then I hope you all enjoy the day and weekend!
Cheers <3

Florals For Fall

Outfit Details

Cardi: Forever21 (old, similar) / Top: Target / Jeans: Dynamite (similar style)
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini / Bag: olivia + joy (also love

I wore this outfit to a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with my family on Sunday.  That might seem weird since we are still in October, but this will be the first year that I will be going away on Thanksgiving, so I am very happy that I was still able to celebrate it in some way.  It was also with my father's side of the family and since I don't see them very often, it made the dinner that much more special.  :)

Now on to the outfit.  I got this long floral cardi last year and I have not worn it since.  To be honest, I actually forgot about it!  It's a great statement piece though and I thought that it was perfect for the dinner.  This time, I decided to pair it with high-waist denim, a simple red tank, and tan heels.  I would love to wear it again over a dress too.  I love floral print, all year round.

2 more days until Halloween and I still have no idea if I am going to dress up.  What are you guys going to be?  I am not sure how to top my hashtag costume from last year!

Happy hump day. <3

Outfit Details

Sweater: Charlotte Russe (old, also love) / Leggings: HUE
Shoes: Prima Donna / Bag: Botkier via Nordstrom Rack (also love)

Another day, another pair of printed bottoms.  I can't help it!  I got these a few months ago and didn't really know how I was going to style them.  This abstract print is super cool though.  It reminds me of splattered paint.  Very artistic.  After tearing apart my closet (literally), I came across this sweater that I got sometime last year.  It was long enough and in the same color palette as the print, so I decided to wear it.  I've been wearing so many sweaters lately, but as you can see there are so many different ways to style them.  Since the leggings are such a statement piece, I kept the shoes and bag neutral to create an even balance throughout the outfit.  I even went with a nude lip!  I don't usually do nude, but I'm starting to like it much more.  This one is Naked2 from Urban Decay.

Don't forget to enter HUE's Contest to win a trip to NYC + a $1000 shopping spree!
Happy Tuesday!

Ninja Style

Outfit Details

Jacket: William Rast / Sweater: H&M (similar) /  Leggings: Zara (similar style)
Scarf: H&M (similar) / Booties: Forever21 (love these) / Bag: H&M

I sort of felt like a ninja in this outfit with all of the black layers.  I highly doubt that a ninja would wear these printed pants though. :) It was a super windy day and I just wanted to be comfy and casual. I'm wearing what I like to call my "old faithful" booties from last year.  You probably remember I wore these like crazy.  They are still in such great condition believe it or not and I will be wearing them again this season for sure.

I love mixing textures, so this moto jacket is my new favorite one.  My collection of these continues to grow, but I seriously get so much use out of them.  They have most definitely become a staple piece for me.  I've worn these pant/leggings a couple of times before, but I think this is the first time that I posted them on the blog.  Since I was doing all black up top, I wanted to make sure that the bottom half of my outfit would stand out.

I hope you all have a great Monday!

Comfy & Oversized Pieces

Outfit Details

Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack (similar style) / Shirt: Target / Leggings: Zara (similar)
Bag: H&M (similar)

As the weather cools down, I just want to layer up in the most comfortable clothes.  Regardless of the fact that I am only 4’11, I still love oversized pieces, especially during the fall and winter seasons.  I’ve been searching for more sweaters & cardigans to add to my wardrobe, so I was very happy to find this one at Nordstrom Rack.  They have a huge selection of long cardigans right now, but this one was definitely my favorite.  No lie, I want to sleep in it.  I decided to pair this with a chunky plaid scarf and even though it’s the same color palette as the cardigan, I love the way it makes the outfit pop out.  Plaid scarves are a huge trend right now and I love it.   They’re a great way to add a pop of print or even do some print mixing this season.  For some extra comfort with this look, I paired these pieces with my black leggings, a long white tee and booties.

Happy Weekend <3

Be Radiant + Demi Lovato Giveaway

Outfit Details

Jacket: Elie Tahari x Kohls / Top: NY&CO / Skirt: Girls On Film (love this)
Booties: Target (similar) / Hat: H&M (similar) / Bag: French Connection (similar)

Confidence is something that I have honestly had to work at over the years.  I used to be really insecure about many things and I had to learn to let that go.  As I’ve gotten older, I have learned to embrace my flaws.  I now feel much more comfortable in my own skin.  When it comes to fashion, it’s important to be confident with the things that you wear.  Clothes are just our outer layer, so make sure to let your inner confidence and personality shine through! That’s why I’m so excited about today’s post.  The Radiant Collection from Tampax and Always partnered up with Demi Lovato for her World Tour to encourage girls to have the confidence to wear what they want at all times of the month.  In honor of this, I am sharing an outfit that makes me feel both radiant and confident.  And guess what?  One reader will receive 2 tickets to the Demi Lovato concert at the Barclays Center this month!  First, let’s get into the outfit details and then, more info on the giveaway.

I know that some girls shy away from wearing prints, but it’s honestly one of the things that make me feel the most fearless and bold.  I don’t really know how to explain it, but whenever I wear a printed piece I’m just ready to take on the day.  I decided to base my look around this fun printed neon skirt.  You might remember the matching bomber jacket that I wore not too long ago.  I’ve done so many matching sets so I wanted to wear each piece as a separate this time.  I paired the skirt with a white top and black moto jacket to create a nice mix of chic and edgy.   Instead of heels, I went with booties and the final touch was my favorite wide brim hat and a pink lip.  Over the last 3 years of blogging, I’ve learned to wear an outfit and own it, whether it’s something bold or something as simple as a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.  It’s not so much about what you are wearing but how you are wearing it.  If you like it and you are comfortable in it, then that is all that matters.  You are beautiful.  Work it girl!

Now on to the amazing giveaway!  One reader will receive TWO tickets to the Demi Lovato concert on 10/27 at 7pm at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.  To enter, simply leave a comment on this post and tell me what you wear to feel the most confident.  Also, please provide your email address too so that I contact you if you win! I will be choosing the winner the morning of 10/25 so that you can pick up your tickets at will call the day of the concert.  Good luck loves!

Also, Lucky Magazine and Tampax have an awesome giveaway going on—if you purchase $10 worth of Tampax product, you can receive a $5 Target. For more information click HERE.
Happy Thursday!
