Vintage Inspired

Outfit Details

Dress: Virgos Lounge (here) / Shoes: Charles David (here) / Cluch: Dynamite (similar)

I'm starting this week off with a special occasion dress and something a little different than what I normally wear.  I think one of the best parts about fashion is just getting to have fun with it and branching out to try different styles.  I've always been a big fan of vintage pieces and I really wish that my mom had held on to more of her clothes from years ago.  This dress definitely has a vintage inspired feel to it.  The photos do not even do it justice.  The beaded detailing is so beautiful in person and I love the open back.

I have to admit that I felt like I was channeling Jasmine from Aladdin.  All I needed was my magic carpet. lol!  I wore this to the Posh Party that I co-hosted last week.  It might not seem like the typical "party dress," but that's what I loved about it.  I wanted to try something different.  In terms of the styling, I just kept it simple with gold heels and a few accessories.  I wanted to let the dress be the statement.  Thank you Virgos Lounge for this pretty little gem!

Have a great day loves!

Shades Of White

Outfit Details

Top: Dress Up (here) / Jeans: Dynamite (here) / Shoes: Missguided (here)
Bag: Tommy Hilfiger / Necklace: Capwell (here) / Sunglasses: Zero UV (similar here)

Happy Friday everyone!
I'll keep today's post short & sweet.  I really like playing around with different shades of the same color, and currently white is a favorite for summer.  I wore this a couple of days ago when I went into the city.  I just wanted something casual and comfortable but also chic.  I think a great way to achieve this look is with a pair of boyfriend jeans.  I just can't seem to get enough of their relaxed fit.  I decided to style mine with this crop top that I wore in Montreal.  The print on the top is actually the same as the print on my shoes so they ended up being a perfect match.  I brought a pair of flats with me in my tote though, which is a must for walking around NYC!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out last night for the Poshmark party.  I had a great time with you all!  And don't forget to enter my giveaway. <3

New Voices Of Beauty: Lessons Learned & Highlights

Today's post is all about my 6-month experience as one of the New Voices of Beauty and brand ambassador for COVERGIRL, Olay, Pantene and Secret.  Wow, 6 months really flew by!  P&G and Lucky asked all four of us to do a recap post on the highlights of this journey, lessons learned, and all things in between.

Lessons Learned

I have to start out by saying that this whole experience would have never happened if I didn't take the risk of stepping outside of my comfort zone.  I remember getting the initial email for the New Voices of Beauty casting that was going to take place during the Lucky FABB Conference in NYC back in October.  As soon as I saw the words "video casting," I freaked out.  For me, being put on the spot in front of a camera is something that I am still trying to get used to.   I get so nervous (it's happened all my life) and I tend to ramble on.  Writing has always been a strong point for me, so I'm used to being able to take the time and think about the thoughts and feelings that I want to express.  Doing something live and on the spot is a whole different world for me.  As nervous as I was, I decided to just go for it.  My father would always say, "What do you have to lose?" - I take that advice with me everyday.  So I did the video interview, made it as a finalist, and then after a couple rounds of voting was named one of the New Voices of Beauty... and none of that would have ever happened if I didn't just go for it!  Fear of the unknown or of failing can only hold you back.  This whole experience made me realize how amazing it is to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.  It's all about that nervous and scared feeling you get and being able to push through that.... that's where the magic happens.   You have to remind yourself that you ARE capable.  Be proud of your accomplishments and never let anyone take that away from you, including yourself.

Being able to work with COVERGIRL, Olay, Pantene and Secret has really been amazing.  These are brands that I have used for years and I would have never thought an opportunity like this would ever be possible.  As part of the contest, we each won a year's supply of products from all four brands, which is awesome.  I've shared some of those products on my blog & Instagram and will definitely continue to post about more of them. I'm also sharing some with you guys today! (see end of post) But my favorite part about this whole experience was definitely the trips and meeting so many great people along the way.

They sent all four of us to NYC back in January to film a video campaign.  It was my first time doing a video of that nature and I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to share that experience with.  From brunch and shopping to filming in the cold and hanging out with the girls, it's something that I will always cherish.

My fellow NVB: Katie, Nikki and Amy

Back in April, they sent the four of us to LA for Lucky FABB West.  They had a special section for us at the brunch and they played our video.  It gave us the opportunity to meet a ton of new people and share our experience as the NVB.  They even gave us an on-the-spot interview (where I made fun of myself lol.) We got to meet Eva Chen, editor-in-chief of Lucky, and they surprised us by featuring our photo in the June/July 2014 issue of Lucky.  It was a great feeling to have that recognition.  Thank you Lucky!

I hope you guys enjoyed taking this journey with me!  I'm looking forward to what is yet to come.  To all of those who voted for me during this process, I truly appreciate your kindness and support.
A huge thank you to Lucky Magazine and P&G Beauty, especially Dina, Jamie, Nina and Emme!
And to my fellow NVB, Nikki, Katie and Amy, you girls are all amazing! <3

LPD: From Day To Night

Happy hump day!
For today's post, I teamed up with Missguided to style this LPD (little purple dress) from day to night.  I love being able to wear something in multiple ways, especially when it can easily transition from something casual to a little more dressy.

Day Look

Outfit Details

Dress: Missguided (here) / Sandals: Naughty Monkey (old, similar here
Tote: Tommy Hilfiger (similer style) / Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe (old, similar here

For the day, I wanted to go with something simple but bold, which is why I decided to wear these lavender mirrored sunglasses.  I got them last year and never got around to wearing them so I thought this was the perfect opportunity.  There is so much that you can do with this skater dress, but I wanted to leave all of the accessorizing for my night look.  I just went with my everyday necklace and bracelets.  I love it when you can wear both flats and heels with the same piece.  I thought that these gold embellished sandals were a good choice for this look.  A big tote is always needed for the day to hold all your things.  I've been using this one quite frequently, especially for my trips into the city.  I added the flower as a fun daytime accessory. :) And as for the hair and makeup, I went with a light pink lip and ponytail for a "casual chic" vibe.  This look works well for going out to brunch with friends.

Night Look

Outfit Details

Dress: Missguided (here) / Belt: Missguided (here) / Shoes: Missguided (here)
Clutch: Dynamite (old, also love) / Necklace & Cuff: Oia Jules

The night look was all about the accessories.  It's the best way to dress up something simple.  I added this thin gold plated belt to redefine my waistline, a statement necklace to bring another element to the outfit and this purple stone cuff that matched beautifully with the dress.  I got this cuff during the holiday season and never wore it, but I'm happy I saved it for this outfit!  To keep up with the gold theme, I thought this sequin box clutch was the best option.  As for the shoes, I decided to wear these white ankle strap sandals that compliment the white belt.  I have a serious obsession with ankle strap heels, but these are a little bit different than my other pairs.  You can't see it in the photos, but they actually have a snakeskin print on them.  For my makeup, I wanted something more bold for the night.  I'm wearing Urban Decay Venom lipstick and purple eye shadow.  I usually stick to neutrals on the eyes, but wanted to make them pop a bit more.  It's the night time right, so let your hair down and have some fun! ;) This look is great for dinner & drinks with friends.

Which one is your favorite?
Have a stylish day!

Trying to get rid of the mosquitos lol

Outfit Details

Blazer: H&M (old, similar here) / Top: Dex (here on clearance) / Shorts: Forever21 (here)
Shoes: Zara (similar) / Necklace: Dynamite / Clutch: Grateful Bags
Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe (also love)

Ok, I'm starting to lose track of all the floral pieces that I own.  It's an addiction that I never thought I would have.  But I couldn't resist these ruffled shorts.  Initially, I bought them with the hopes that I would get to wear them while I was in Montreal.  But because of the crazy rain over there, that never happened.  I've mentioned before that most of the tops I have are simple, solid colored ones and I just recently added this one to the bunch.  I've already worn it about 3 or 4 times this past month because it's the perfect way to add a pop of color to any outfit.  When I bought these shorts, I knew that these two pieces would work well together.  The only problem when tucking in shirts like this is that they sometimes bulge out on the sides, which can be a little unflattering to our figures.  The best way to solve this issue is by putting a blazer or jacket on top.  Voila! No more bulge.  I think that's one of the reasons why my obsession with blazers has grown so much over the years.  They make every outfit better, at least I think so. :)

I wanted to let you guys know about a huge summer sample sale that Capwell is having this Thursday & Friday in NYC.  So if you live in the area and need some new jewels, try to pass by and check it out.  Their pieces will go up to 75% off!

Enjoy your day loves!
